Aromatherapy and Sensory Basket

Sensory

20 mingroup · one-to-one · room-visit · bedbound

A calming sensory experience using scented items — lavender, cinnamon, citrus, vanilla — paired with tactile objects of different textures. Sensory stimulation supports regulation, reduces agitation, and creates meaningful engagement for residents who cannot participate in other activities.

  2. 2. (10 min) Offer each scent one at a time. Ask: "What does this smell remind you of?"
  3. 3. (5 min) Offer texture items. "Which is softest? Which is rough?"
  4. 4. (2 min) End with preferred scent. Deep breathing.

Difficulty Versions
